Enterprise Therapeutics is a clinical-stage company, developing novel therapies that target the underlying mechanisms of mucus congestion in the lungs. Mucus congestion is one of the main causes of difficulty in breathing and increased risk of infection in respiratory diseases such as cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis and COPD. Reducing this congestion will reduce the frequency of lung infections, leading to improved patient quality of life. Enterprise’s lead asset, ETD001, is a novel inhaled blocker of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC), with first in class potential. ENaC transports sodium ions out of the airways - blocking this ion channel allows sodium to remain in the airways, attracting water and increasing mucus hydration. ETD001 successfully progressed through Phase 2 clinical trials, with headline data announced in May 2026, showing that it achieved its primary efficacy outcome, demonstrating an improvement in lung function in people with cystic fibrosis over a 28-day period, compared to placebo.
Zyme has worked with Enterprise Therapeutics since 2019, supporting the Company as it progressed from pre-clinical stage, through the sale of its TMEM16A potentiator programme to Roche Genetech in 2022, and the successful completion of it Phase 2 trial for ETD001, a novel therapeutic for cystic fibrosis.
Zyme’s support has focussed on informing key target audiences within the pharma, large biotech and investor communities of the Company’s innovative approach to treating respiratory disease, the progress of the therapeutic pipeline, and the potential impact for patients. Zyme has also raised the profile of the leadership team, their credibility and expertise in the respiratory and ion channel fields.
